✳ Language, culture & connections

Every place
has a voice.

Every place has its own way of saying hello, sharing stories, and making people feel welcome.

Whenever I go somewhere new, I love picking up a few local words. Sometimes, a simple ¡Hola!, Kumusta?, or Bonjour! is all it takes to start a conversation, share a smile, or make a new connection.

WORDS & PHRASES
THAT TAKE YOU PLACES.

One of my favorite ways to connect with a place is to learn how its people speak. Come learn a phrase with me—whether I'm in Spain, the Philippines, France, or somewhere new.

Different place. Different words. Same curiosity.

✳ WHEN CURIOSITY GETS CREATIVE

A peek inside
my Creative Lab.

Not every discovery is a destination. Sometimes it starts with a wild idea, a design experiment, or a simple “what if?”

Here's a little collection of things I've been imagining and making along the way.

My playful side, my AI sidekicks & a little creative chaos!

I'll admit it, I don't create everything by hand. And why should I, when I've got a few clever AI sidekicks to help me out?

I love playing around with ideas, trying something new, and seeing where my imagination takes me. AI helps me bring those ideas to life, but it doesn't always get things right. And that's where I come in! A little direction here, a few adjustments there, and sometimes a hundred tries before I finally say, "Yes! That's the one!"

It's a lot of experimenting, a bit of trial and error, and honestly, that's part of the fun!

Anyway, welcome to my little creative playground. Have a look around and see what we've been up to!

✳ The curious mind behind DÓNDE ESTOY

¡Hola, soy Adi!

I'm a curious kid from Bicol, Philippines, now living in Spain. I've traveled far, but I still believe there's something wonderful waiting to be discovered everywhere I go.

I started Dónde Estoy not because I always get lost (although that happens sometimes!), but because my curiosity keeps taking me places. And when I'm not sure where I'm going, well, that's usually when the adventure begins!

My journey, in my own words

¡Hola, soy Adi! (Hello, I’m Adi!)

I’m a curious kid. Well, at least that’s how I like to think of myself.

If I could freeze my age, I probably would. Not because I’m afraid of getting older, but because I never want to lose the curiosity of a child. That sense of wonder, the excitement of discovering something new, and the endless questions about how the world works.

You see, I believe that the moment we think we know everything is the moment we stop growing.

And really, can any of us honestly claim to know it all? Perhaps that kind of wisdom belongs only to our Creator.

As for me, I'm perfectly happy not knowing everything. It gives me more reasons to ask questions, make discoveries, and stay curious about the world around me.

Curiosity has taken me farther than I ever imagined.

From a small barrio in Bicol, Philippines, to the bustling streets of Manila. From discovering a different way of life and the rich traditions of Saudi Arabia to the vibrant melting pot of cultures and ambitions in Dubai. From experiencing America beyond what I had only imagined to the historic streets of London, where cultures from all corners of the world come together.

And now, here I am, in Spain.

Places that once seemed so far away somehow became part of my story.

Who would have thought that a curious kid from a small barrio would one day get to experience so much of the world?

Certainly not that younger version of me.

And yet, here I am.

Grateful for every opportunity, every person I’ve met, every culture I’ve experienced, and even the unexpected turns, difficult moments, and unfamiliar roads that have brought me to where I am today.

Because not every journey is easy. Not every destination turns out the way we imagined. But somehow, every experience teaches us something.

And lately, there’s one question I’ve been asking myself more often.

¿Dónde estoy? Where am I?

It’s such a simple question, isn’t it?

Usually, we ask it when we’re lost, when we’re somewhere unfamiliar, or when we’re trying to find our way.

But the more I think about it, the more I realize that this question means so much more.

Where am I in the world?

Where am I in life?

How far have I come? Am I where I once dreamed I’d be? Have I taken the right paths? And where will life take me next?

Sometimes, I know the answers. Other times, I haven’t got a clue.

And you know what? I’m learning to be okay with that.

Because life isn’t always about knowing exactly where we’re going. Sometimes, it’s about appreciating where we are, understanding how we got here, and having the courage to remain curious about what lies ahead.

I’ve traveled far, but there’s still so much of the world I haven’t seen. So many things I don’t understand. So many people I haven’t met, stories I haven’t heard, and experiences still waiting to happen.

And deep inside, I’m still that same curious kid from Bicol.

A little older, perhaps a little wiser, but still looking at the world with wonder.

And that’s how Dónde Estoy came to life.

Not because I always get lost (although that happens sometimes!), but because my curiosity keeps taking me places. And when I’m not sure where I’m going, well, that’s usually when the adventure begins!

I wanted to create a little space where curiosity leads the way. A place to discover the familiar and unfamiliar, appreciate different cultures, learn something unexpected, and find joy in the little things we sometimes overlook.

A place where getting a little lost isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Because sometimes, the most wonderful discoveries happen when we least expect them.

And I’d love for you to be part of it.

Let’s explore unfamiliar places, discover different cultures, meet interesting people, learn new things, and find beauty in the ordinary.

Let’s ask questions, share stories, laugh at our little mistakes, and celebrate the discoveries we make along the way.

And perhaps, somewhere in between discovering the world around us, we’ll discover a little more about ourselves, too.

You don’t have to know where we’re going. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Whether you join the conversation or simply come along quietly, you’re always welcome here.

Sometimes, just knowing that someone is sharing the journey makes all the difference.

Because whether we’re wandering through a new city, exploring an unfamiliar culture, or simply trying to figure out this unpredictable thing called life, I think we all find ourselves asking the same question every now and then.

¿Dónde estoy?

And maybe we won’t always know the answer.

But that’s okay.

Because perhaps the most beautiful part of the journey isn’t always knowing where we are.

It’s discovering where we can go from here.

Welcome to Dónde Estoy.

A little lost, a lot to discover.
Beyond the Compass
✳ ANOTHER SIDE OF MY JOURNEY

MY PASSPORT ISN'T THE WHOLE STORY.

Yes, I love exploring new places. But there's another side of my life that doesn't always make it into my travel stories: the work I've done, the people I've worked with, and the ideas I've tried to bring to life.

Over the years, I've worked in aviation and airport operations, spent years in business development, and ventured into real estate and a few entrepreneurial projects of my own. I've also explored the world of data management and analysis, where I've learned that even numbers have interesting stories to tell!

And then there are my other interests. I love cooking, experimenting with flavors, and trying something new in the kitchen. I've even trained in Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP). Yes, quite a different direction, I know! But that's the thing about me. When something catches my interest, I want to learn more about it.

Oh, and did I mention singing, dancing, and boxing? Apparently, my curiosity never got the memo that one hobby at a time is perfectly acceptable!

Some experiences were exciting, others were challenging, and a few definitely came with lessons I didn't see coming!

But if there's one thing I've discovered, it's that I genuinely enjoy working with people, figuring things out, learning new skills, and finding ways to turn ideas into something useful.

And just like everything else in my life, I'm still learning, still exploring possibilities, and always open to a new challenge.

Who knows what I'll get curious about next?

Anyway, here's a little peek at my professional side, too!
